What are some other colleges I should consider?

These are my stats:
SAT:2060
Math:710
CR: 640
Writing: 710
GPA: app. 3.9
Class Rank: 6
EC: Band Captain in Marching band. Allstate band four years in a row, district honor band 5 years in a row. Local community church orchestra for 3 years. Marching/concert band for 4 years. Science Quiz bowl for 2 years, including a years of team captain. Science Olympiad for 2 years. I went to a summer Engineering camp for a week at NC State for Mechanical Engineering.
I'm a Georgia citizen in a small, rural town.
Classes:
4 AP classes, all toughest available.
AP exams: 4, 3, 3
Now dual enrolling at Georgia Southern University taking Calculus 1 and 2, Engl 1 and 2, Physics, Econ, Trig
Major intentions: Either some type of Engineering or Pre-med
Colleges so far I'm thinking of applying to:
-UGA (safety school)-applied early
-Georgia Tech
-Emory
-USC (reach)
-Carnegie Mellon (reach)
-Dartmouth (way reach, but my dad went there.)
What other colleges should I consider and which of these colleges could I get into? Thanks!

UGA= apply to the Honors College (if you haven’t already)
Reachable reaches :stuck_out_tongue:
Vanderbilt
UNC-Chapel Hill
UVA
UMiami
Davidson

For matches (and good merit aid): Rhodes, Centre, Hendrix

Would you consider going out of the South?

Thanks for the reply! I would definitely consider going anywhere in the U.S. if it gave me a chance to have a successful education.

No indication of how much your family can pay, but the value vs. quality balance of Georgia Tech to an instate GA resident who want to major in engineering is going to be hard to beat.

If Alabama still has their money deal for engineering majors, that should also be on the list, though again, GT is probably going to beat it.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. Tech if I decide on Engineering and Emory if I decide on Pre-med.

If you choose premed, you might want to pick a school that’s less competitive than Emory, a school where you’ll be among the top 25%. Med schools don’t care what school you attend, they only look at your GPA. And if you attend a school where you’re not in the top 25%, odds are lower you’ll have the A’s you need.
I agree that GTech is going to be hard to beat for a Georgia resident.

Trinity University has a great record getting its students into med school and a very good engineering science program. I think Georgia Tech will probably be your best bet if money is at all important to your decision.

Holy Cross and Tufts both very good schools in Boston area.

Wake Forest should be on your list too. Would be great for pre-med.
