I'm currently a high school freshman, age 15, and I'm seeking somewhere to volunteer at. I'm interested in the sciences in general, and unfortunately my local hospital is all filled up with high school volunteers. So can anyone think of some other science-oriented/related places I can volunteer at this summer? If not, I'd also like to volunteer or intern in a professional environment, so places where I could volunteer in environments like that would also be greatly appreciated!

I am a freshman and am interested in science but I volunteer at the library.

You could try to find a local clinic or hospice- similar to working at a hospital. Try networking: are any of your friends’ parents/parents’ friends doctors or scientists? Finally, you could also just email as many science related companies/organizations as you can find in your area and ask them for an internship. Good luck!

I first volunteered at the library. HATED IT. Then I worked with my former MS and loved it. I realized I liked helping middle schoolers in particular because they are old enough to understand what you teach them, but young enough that you actually feel like you’re making a difference.
Find something you enjoy and DO IT.
