I’ve heard that many liberal arts schools and others like Brown have large LGBT populations, but couldn’t find data or much evidence to back this up.
schools i researched to make sure are especially LGBT+ friendly when i was making my own list: brown, grinnell, vassar, macalester, case western reserve, wesleyan, berkeley, ucla, yale, reed, carleton, and oberlin
schools that are generally touted as being LGBT+ friendly: upenn, uofmichigan, princeton, uscali, occidental, haverford, swarthmore, connecticut college, indiana university-bloomington, virtually all of the women’s colleges, sdsu, tufts, uofwashington, etc.
typically, campusprideindex[.]org (had to use brackets just in case i’m not allowed to link the actual website, lmao) will have a list of LGBT+ friendly and LGBT+ unfriendly campuses.
There are a LOT of other colleges that are LGBT friendly. Most (If not all) colleges in the NESCAC are very accepting. Clark University should be in @kalons list above. Probably most state flagships, and probably most state unis in “liberal” states are going to have LGBT students and be very tolerant.
About 25% of Carleton College students identify as LGBTQ+. About 2% identify as transgender or gender non-binary.
