I’m a freshman at A&M, considering transferring. What can I do to increase my chances? What should I know about?

First off, why do you want to transfer?

They care mostly about GPA, over a 3.5 would increase your chances. Transfer admissions is more competitive than freshman. However, it also varies by major. It’s harder for engineering and business.

I’m a transfer student in engineering at UT

I want to transfer mainly because I hear that UT is much more academically accredited on the national and international level than A&M is, while A&M is mostly good for Texas. Also, the traditional, conservative, country atmosphere at A&M is too much for me (I wonder if this is a valid reason…). What was your GPA when you transferred? How were your essays, ECs, and recommendation letters?
