Hey guys, I'm going to attempt to transfer into USC as a sophomore. I would appreciate any tips you could give. I know many of you were in the same position as me either one or two years ago, so I could really benefit from any help you could give.

Get as many important majore pre-req's and GE's done as possible. Get the highest g.p.a. you can. Don't focus too much on ec's or anything else. GPA + Solid Essay = You're In.

They won't look at your high school grades if you have at least 30 transferable semester units. Usually, you can contact them and ask them if a class you're taking will transfer or not.

How awful could your HS gpa be? I'm sure I was in the 1.9-2.2 range through out high school and I managed to step it up my senior year with a 3.9. Now I'm at a community college and holding a 3.82 with one more semester to go hopefully bumping it up to the 3.9 range. USC will ask for your HS transcripts but that won't matter as long as you hold your own at a community college.

USC is easy to get into as a transfer. Just go to Rio Hondo or Santa Monica or LA Valley or Pasadena, get a 3.5 cum and if you don’t need financial aid, presto, you are in dude!
