What are some top colleges/universities with a laid-back atmosphere?

Anyone know any top colleges/universities that are relatively more laid-back? .. as in.. has a laid-back student body or atmosphere.

I'm thinking Brown, some colleges in California (maybe Stanford). What else?

Not so sure Brown is laidback...or that Stanford is.

Laidback, at lesat to me, would be Earlham, College of Wooster, Hobart College, Centre College, Beloit College, Lawrence U, etc...

Sorry. I meant top (elite?) colleges that are generally more laid back than the average top/elite college. Like I know that Stanford is relatively more laid back than Harvard is.

Any other colleges like that?

Elite colleges do not become elite or stay elite by being laid back.

Grinnell, Bates, Holy Cross, Vandy, etc...

Brown...Dartmouth...U Penn? USC, UCSD and UCLA come to mind...

A lot of the Claremont Colleges, particularly Pomona and Scripps in my opinion.

Carleton College

colgate, hamilton, conn college, bates, colby, wesleyan, skidmore, brown

Duke, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Bowdoin, Holy Cross, Davidson.

Brown has a lot of pot, Duke and Dartmouth have a lot of parties with lots of booze...pick your poison lol

Of course, many students at both schools are perfectionists...they didn't get into top colleges by being laidback

Warm weather = laid back. The atmosphere is more relaxed when you can wear a t-shirt. So Stanford or Duke.

Tufts, Brown, Wesleyan.

Stanford feels laid-back once you've done all the work required to get into Stanford in the first place. Of course, your major makes quite the difference.

Stanford, Brown, Dartmouth.

UCLA isn't laid back. The vicious quarter system and the highest number of pre-meds in the United States will leave you covered in blood if you try to be "laid back" here.

Huh. I'm not saying it is laid back, because I know nothing about UCLA, but I find it odd that the "vicious quarter system" is part of the reason it isn't. We have a quarter system, and I agree with many of the previous posters that Dartmouth really is pretty chill. In fact, I think the D-plan kind of adds to it.
