What are the advantages of Early Action over regular decision?

<p>I'm applying to Stanford, and I think I may have a fairly good shot. But I don't have my personal statement or short essays written. Should I EA or Regular Decision? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Also, tips on how to write stanford's short essays would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>Well … for Stanford, it is SCEA (Single Choice Early Action). Basically, that is you cannot apply to another other early school, and it is binding. With Stanford, there is no “increase” in acceptances out of SCEA, if increase, it is minimal. </p>

<p>If there were tips to write Stanford essays, everybody would take it. I need the help too… :confused: haha.</p>
