What are the best dorms for freshmen?

I know this has been asked before, but with all the new construction, and more dorms expected to open this coming fall, what would be the suggestions to freshmen about dorm selection?

I will be visiting in March and think I better have a good idea what I want to out on housing agreement if I choose Ohio State

What would you say your priorities in looking for housing are?

North Campus is quieter, more academic
South Campus is fun/social/parties
West Campus is dead.

@kdiddy34 I haven’t decided between the North or South… Want the best of both worlds. However, probably lean more on the academic side

That’s not entirely true. It depends more on the specific dorm. That is, if you go, say, Park-Stradley on South, you’re in for a lot of parties, but if you live in an Honors dorm on South (Bradley) it’s pretty academic. Same goes for North, there are dorms there full of engineers, and others with the wilder business majors. That said, more Freshman live on South that I’ve seen.
Whatever you do, do not pref the towers (Morrill and Lincoln). You are far away from everyone and everything.

@ss1921 I live in Bradley right now. My floor does as much as some Park-Stradley floors do. And to what I’ve seen there’s quite a good balance in terms of studying on the weekdays and going hard on weekends

@superk25 Honestly I highly recommend South you’re near Mirror Lake and quite a few of the best on campus food options…closer to bars/canes/chipotle and all that. North is cool and people like it but I’m a big fan of South so far for sure.
