What are the best schools I could get into?

suggestion: American University: just went test optional for both ED and RD as we speak…school of communications; great PR; internships…

Thanks, Rodney! I’ll look into it.

I think it is a good list. Maybe add Wake Forest back since test optional?

Will do. Thanks again, everyone. Y’all have been such a tremendous help.

Just curious… what do y’all think my chances of getting in are at those schools? If you could, rank them as safeties, matches, and reaches.

Thanks again.

Not trying to avoid the question, but cases like yours where the test scores don’t match the GPA are always tough. But my best guess is:

Vanderbilt- Regular Decision high reach
Rhodes College match/reach
University of Arkansas (I qualify for some scholarships there) match/safety
Texas Christian University match
Texas A&M University match
University of Texas- Austin reach
Southern Methodist University reach
University of Missouri match
Syracuse University match/slight reach
Baylor University match/slight reach
UIUC reach

But as I say, don’t get too hung up on that stuff. Just do your best with the essays and getting good recs, and you will be fine.

Thank you!

You should take a good look at Trinity College in Texas. It’s probably like a match/slight reach for you and with that sort of income a private school that you can get into might give a full scholarship for need based aid. I would take a harder look at private schools with good aid if I were you.

Trinity is an excellent suggestion, and San Antonio is a nice city.

I’m looking at Trinity now. What is the academic reputation of the school?

It is considered an excellent school. It is actually pretty selective, it is not a sure thing you will get in, but I think you have a 50-50 shot. But it has a fine reputation for undergraduate studies.
