What are the chances as an engineer applicant?

Before I give my stats, I want to say that I am a Florida resident. Also, I am in a community college at the moment working on completing my engineering pre-reqs for electrical engineering and computer science. I anticipate being done after next semester. So I will be applying as a transfer student.

Pre-req GPA: 4.0 (so far)
EC’s:
-Math Olympics
-Student Government Association
-AMS (American Chemical Society)
-Karate

Work/Volunteering:
-Hospital volunteering (200+ hrs of service).

In addition to the above stats, I have some other details that could possibly provide diversity:

  • Second person in my family to go to college (first is my father).
  • Diagnosed with autism since birth.

So, based on all of the above information, do I have a good shot at getting in?

Are you a transfer student (and not a Freshman who’s earning an AA via Duel Enrollment)? If so, UF will only be looking at your GPA, and that you’ve completed the pre-req’s. If you’re at a Florida CC, and have a 4.0 (or close) GPA, you shouldn’t have any issues with EE or computer Sciences.

Good Luck!
