ESSAYS
-I wrote one on my experience when volunteering in Africa
-Another one I wrote about my experience living around the world (i've lived in 6 countries on 3 continents) and how the difficulties affected me but made me a better person
- Last but not least, my main essay will also probably be my hook as I'll explain how I learned english in the 6th grade when i moved here but I overcame the difficulty to get an A in AP English.
- I've had all these read by 3 english teachers and they have all told me they're really good

Anyway, I want to go to williams and maybe major in humanities or international affairs and then go onto yale law school hopefully and focus on international law/human rights. My ultimate goal is to someday work at the UN or something! Well, I've been told by many that my GPA and class rank are low for williams but I will tell you that although I may not be the smartest, I'm probably the most enthusiastic for williams. One of my passions is film-making and I'm actually thinking of sending a video detailing my life experience and why i really want to go williams to the admissions office along with my app. Should I do this?

Btw, I'm currently live in Michigan but my family's moving to Dallas this summer and with hopefully around 10,000K of assistance a year, money isn't really a big issue.

Thanks for any help! I really appreciate it!

Your stats are somehwat similar to mine; actually, they are much better. Higher SAT, slightly higher GPA. I strongly suggest you apply (over the summer) for their fall visitation program. Not only will you get to know the school better if you are selected, but it would also bode well for you in the admisison process. The person to contact is Gina Coleman; ask about the Multicultural Visitation Program. Good luck!

wow cool thanks! i love these kind of replies...

If you really want to go to williams, dittogal88, then just pursue your dream with all the determination you can muster.

I must say that when I applied, it was as though I sent in a hopeless application. After applying, many of the admission stories on the website just made me feel even more hopeless, and even all the stuff I was seeing on this forum.

Seriously you have a chance [everyone does anyway, lol] But I think you have a strong chance. but obviously, there is SO much more to you than I [or anyone else for that matter] can garner from this post [btw i'm sure you're one amazing person, although i must confess i couldn't read all of your post:D]. So just present yourself boldly in your app and hope for the best:) and well, expect the worst:D

we can all say things to make you feel good, but that can in no way influence "their" decision when the time comes, it will only boost your confidence.

but sincerely, i wish you all the best!! and hope you get into Williams!

aaaw thanx i love you haha. anyway, i'm not sure, but did u get into williams jrock?

I'm extremely delighted and highly honored I will be joining the AMAZING AMAZING Williams Class of 2010 this fall!

yeah, so i'm going, lol. Best of luck in your admission process:) Be on the lookout for other "perfect" colleges for you [there's no "perfect" college in reality anyway, cos there's no way you could abolutely measure "perfection" if you only attended ONE college and couldn't experience other choices for that same length of time during that same period]. Anyway, seriously, if I didn't make it to Williams, there were others in the offing that would've been equally glad [or even more] to have me.

So have fun:)
