I was recently accepted into some good state schools. My grades for most classes are solid, all 90s with one in the 80s, and a mix of 90s and 80s my junior, sophomore, and freshman years. I have a GPA in the low 90s unweighted, but I am having trouble with one class in particular. It is an AP course. I managed to get a 79 last quarter but as of right now I’m failing by one point. If the rest of my grades have been good all throughout my time at school, what are my chances of colleges getting the wrong idea (that I’m not trying) and my admissions offer being rescinded.
Finishing with a D or an F will likely lead to issues with your admission

What about if I get in the 70s?
For one class? Unlikely. Just don’t strive for a C, because you might end up with a D

Have you asked to do extra credit or done all the extra credit that has been assigned?
Go talk to your teacher and ask what you can do to help raise your grade. One C is not typically cause for rescinding an acceptance, but you should check the conditions of acceptance from your in-state schools to be sure.
If you do ultimately receive a grade lower than C, then I’d contact the colleges and explain the situation and see what they say about it.
Hard work pays off.
