slim to none ?

should I send an extra essay (because I think that's why I got deferred)

I heard the chances are about equal to regular RD chances, so definitely don't give up hope!

And an extra essay seems appropriate from what I've heard also. Good luck!

i've heard more deferred EA applicants are accepted than RD applicants (i mean a higher %, not actual numbers of acceptance)

I think we're accepted at double the RD rate, actually.

yea, brenzel cited 13% in the email for EA deferrees, so the RD rate is somewhere around 6.5%?

ummm...letter said <10% get in RD

I thought the 13% was for deferrees. If you think about it: 48% of 4080 got deferred, and 13% of that number would be accepted RD (as per last year's statistics). So, that would mean about 250 deferrees would be accepted RD this yr...?

ya 250 odd

When do they start reviewing applications again? I guess the deferred will be looked at last because the whole point of deferral was to be compared with the RD round people - agree?

Hehe, gregariousloner, I'm intrigued by where you live. How's it like there?!

those odds still suck tho. say 4000 ppl applied EA and 48% got deferred. approx 50% thats --- 2000 kids .of those only aprox 250 get in after. thats only 1/8th of us. blah. thats depressing

Yah, I know what you mean Jenny. Better than nothing, though.

so when should we start sending in stuff?

it doesn't have to be in by the 1st, like for RD, does it?
