I’m asking this for myself since he’s being patient while waiting for the Portal notifications (whenever they come in). I’m mainly doing this because Cal college acceptance decisions are all over the map.
He applied late November, and chose Mechanical Engineering for his major. I’m a little concerned about ME being impacted
at CPP.
SAT Math 610, Reading 600, Writing 540 - He didn’t study or seem to try too hard for the SATs (much to my disappointment). He didn’t take the ACT.
CUM GPA through 1st semester Senior year =3,9 unweighted and 4.2 weighted (should go up another tenth of point not that it matters).
UC weighted 4.2
APs - ALL A’S except for one B in English for one semester. The 2nd Senior semester should be A’s for all his classes.

Top 10% of his HS class of approximately 500. Don’t know the official rankings yet.
So Cal ELC -Within the necessary 9% range for his school to qualify but not sure if this matters. It does pretty much guarantee you acceptance to UC Merced (or maybe one of the more competitive UC schools if there is “room”) if you get rejected from all of your other UC’s.
No ECs but he did work for 2 summers making the packaging prototypes using 3D printers at an International cosmetics company.
Bi-Racial: Caucasian/Japanese - I know, shouldn’t matter. Born 5 miles from Cal Poly Pomona where my wife got her degree in Accounting with a minor in CS.
Colleges he applied to, he didn’t want to leave SoCal so he really limited himself.
Long Beach State: Accepted
Cal State Fullerton: Accepted
San Diego State: Accepted
Cal Poly Pomona: Waiting
Cal Pol SLO: Waiting but not hopeful
UCSD: Wait Listed 03/12/15 looks like lots of people will be also based on posts today.

UCLA: Applied just for the heck of it. He’s not holding his breath.
This is a great forum, I’ve been learning a lot and am truly amazed at the diversity and caliber of students who are going through the stress of College acceptances. Best of luck to everyone!
Thanks!!
