Rising senior from tri-state area, competitive high school, please chance me =D Also, I might need to narrow down my list, so if someone could help eliminate some, that'd be appreciated.

Some of the schools don't have supplements to fill out, so I don't mind doing the applications, however I think that I have too many schools as of now. Any suggestions to help narrow the list down would be great. Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks guys! Recs will be good, I picked two teachers (one history, one english) who I have great relationships with. The essay I hope will be good. I’m not sure if this will set me apart, but English was not my first language and I was actually in ESL during elementary school; that’s why I am really proud to be in AP English now.

just a piece of advice because you chanced me, is “Parents are immigrants from Europe who came in their late 20s/early 30s” won’t really help because the country is full of immigrants, including myself

Sorry, I also dont really know some of the colleges listed
Columbia: low reach (like everone else, but you have good chances)

I was a little harsh in my previous post, but I just wanted to give you a heads up before the process began. One of my senior friends was waitlisted at Columbia (it was her dream school) with 2330 SAT, 800 Math II, 760 Chemistry, and 720 US History, 35 act, 7 aps(all 5s) by junior year end, an ISEF finalist, good essays and recs (i’m assuming it to be the case for the last two because i obviously don’t know for sure). She did, however, get accepted to MIT. Columbia’s acceptance rate dropped to 9%. I wouldn’t put my hopes on Columbia, because it is a bit abnormal from all of the other Ivies and top schools, but you should always give it your best shot, noone knows for sure what can happen :] Good Luck!

yeah i doubt you’ll make columbia but my boyfriend just got into vassar and he had a 1920, 28, and less ec than you. i’ll bet youre in at vassar and nyu

Thanks for the help guys! goodluck, I didn’t think you were being harsh, I appreciate honesty. Truthfully, I don’t think I will get into Columbia, one of the girls I know who was incredibly gifted and applied ED got rejected, so it is more just to see.

SO this is what I think, Columbia is a big reach, but all the others (except maybe Wesleyan) are matches or safeties. You could really afford to put one more reach like Cornell (which would be a midsized but not crazy reach) on your list.
