What are the cool things about William and Mary

Directed to all current students or even anyone who is familiar with the school. What do u find most interesting and exciting about william and mary.....also kinda random sidenote what kind of school spirit would you say W&M has??

hrm...

interesting? how hard you can work to get a C =P no just kidding (kinda). The Yule Log ceremony is really good. It's the weekend between the two weeks of finals in the fall semester. The President dresses up like Santa and reads the Seuss story with the Grinch (How the Grinch stole Christmas?). The choir and an acapella group sing, and they read the story of all the winter holidays. Then everyone throws holly in the fire in the Great Hall of the Wren Building (if you don't get trampled trying to get in).

Kappa Delta's philanthropy, Campus Golf, is a highlight of the Spring Semester. You get a tennis ball and a golf club and hit it all over old campus (and not very accurately if you are not so sober).

Convocation is also very nice for welcoming the new students (freshmen and transfers).

And we get a firework show in December, weekend between end of classes and finals.

Is that at all what you were looking for? lol

School Spirit... seems to be growing, and hopefully we will continue. Last year the student section at football games was only half full, but this year the student section has been full, and everyone on their feet during the games. Last year we went to the national semi finals (11-3), so that brought more people to the games, since the 3 playoff games we had were at home. This year expectations were high but we were very inconsistant, and finished 5-6, losing 2 games by 1 point, but we did beat the #1 team on fall break (it was pouring rain and probably 2000 people in the stands, but the game was awesome, President Nichol stood in the student section with us for part of the game in the pouring rain, /w no umbrella.). Hopefully people will continue to fill the stands next year. We just got lights put in this year (big deal in Williamsburg), and had our first night game against JMU, who has become our main rival (they beat us in the playoffs in 04, ESPN brought in lights for the game). 3000 students showed up to this game (you had to get a ticket ahead of time, but they were free), which is more than half the undergrad population of the school, which is a huge percentage. Other home games you just show your ID to get in.

They gave the class of 09 tshirts (donated from someone, maybe ukrops) to wear to the games, and there were a lot of those shirts at the first game. So hopefully we can build spirit with each new class.

Basketball team is struggling, but we have a new coach, so give him another recruiting class or two and he should see improvement. His first recruiting class looks pretty good.
