I'm applying to UF and right now I have put in "undeclared" due to their lack of majors in architecture, even though I am not positive I would like to major in this. However at the ones they do have I wanted to see if anyone could clarify the difference of each.

Architecture
-Civil Engineering
-Interior Design
-Industrial and Systems Engineering
-Landscape architecture

Ok, so here they are in lay man’s terms:

-Architecture: planning (& sometimes construction) of buildings, private or public.
-Civil Engineering - construction/ planning of public works such as highways.
-Interior Design - as the name suggests, designing the inside of a building. E.g. type of curtains, type of sofas, color scheme, etc.
-Industrial and Systems Engineering - designing and managing projects (tbh not completely sure about this)
-Landscape architecture - designing/ planning lawns, an area of land. Basically “exterior” design. E.g. type of flowers, elevation, water source, etc.

Good luck!

that helped alot thank you(:
