Undecided is cool if you are coming in as a freshman, but for junior transfers it wont work. We have to transfer as a specific major.

According to JC’s link, Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations is winning, along with Geology and Geophysics. Spanish is pretty low too though, and so is women’s studies.

Philosophy is really easy at UCLA? Good to know, it’s what I wanted to Minor in. I was worried it’d be as impacted as the Psych major I’m aiming for. But yeah, I agree with everyone else… do something because you love it. Just trying to do my personal statements is hard enough and I love my major, but I haven’t done any internships/ECs for it yet so I can’t talk about how it’s impacted my life very much (except in an abstract way). It’s not worth it to be in debt up to several hundred grand by the end of 4-8 years of college and grad school just for a piece of paper from a top university in a subject you don’t like…

On the other hand, if you do like your major, go for it.

^ Philosophy is not easy at UCLA…

^When I say “easy” I meant not impacted. Someone on page one said it wasn’t, or did I misread?

Actually I was wrong, engineering geology is lower than ancient near eastern

Just a little clarification on this topic. Just because it maybe easy to get into womens studies at ucla DOES NOT mean its easy to get into at Cal. Women’s studies is lumped in with the social science divison which is a highly competitive division. UCLA admits per major and Cal admits per division. BIG DIFFERENCE. Know this.

Women’s studies majors are awesome. Women’s studies peeps are legit.

^ I was going to either do multiple Psych categories or specialize in LGBT studies and/or Neuropsych. Neuropsych is fascinating and the LGBT community needs more hitters for it.

LGBT peeps are legit too. :)

Is there a link like that for Berkeley?

To lakeforever21, what have you been smoking? Business administration is one of the tougher majors to get into at UCLA AND BERKLEY. Business is also one of the harder majors to get into at many CSUs like Long Beach, San Diego, Northridge, San Luis Obispo and Fullerton.

kittycat–laker is joking. bahaha.

berkeleyorbust–Berkeley doesnt really have those kind of stats avilable per major. But they do have some stats per admissions division…check out their website in the transfer section.

I am nice…here you go.

wow for women’s studies (UCLA) there’s only one pre-requisite. niceeeee.

I have no sympathy for women’s studies majors.

@ Cant - that is definitely A-typical… did you read how when she was a “teenager” she rang up 40k in credit card debt?? sounds like a wild child/ has nothing to do w/ the major… If her family didn’t have the money she could have went to a state school. Seems like a no brainer. Also - NYU is not very difficult to get into as far as admissions goes…

I realize that this thread has been dormant for 4 years, but for those who find it via search engines who have the same question, here’s a useful page from UC Berkeley’s website where they list all majors and indicate which are impacted or capped (look for the red hash symbol): http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/major/majorlist.html
