What are the important dates this year for prospective students?

Just wondering so that I'm able to plan ahead.

When is freshman orientation day? Sometime in April, right?

Also, when do students usually leave for Columbia?

Any other important dates?

The New Student Orientation Program (NSOP) is in late August. The week before is the optional Columbia Outdoor Orientation Program (COOP), where you camp, bike, or whitewater raft with other incoming Columbians and advisors for a few days. April is when Days on Campus takes place. These are two weekends when students can visit the campus and get a feel for Columbia and I think stay over for a night. It’s really directed at accepted RD kids who aren’t sure whether or not to matriculate, though ED students like us can also join in the fun and get free T-shirts.
