I was reading someone say in a thread that AP Human Geo is a "lower tier" AP. So what are the lower tier APs?
What are the higher ones?

Here are the APs I have taken/am going to take, so how do they stack up in comparison as far as difficulty goes? (my schools only lets you take 4 a year).

Sophomore year: Bio
Junior year: US History, Physics B, and English Language
Taking Senior year: Euro, English Lit, Latin Vergil, and Calc AB

Should that even matter? It really depends on the teacher, now I can tell you that. But in general all AP classes are looked the same by college adcoms regardless of what people on this board tell you (Hence “rigor of your schedule” yadah yadah)

It doesn’t really matter, it’s just that I’m more curious how my schedule would stack up. I’m still taking these classes, even if everyone tells me that they’ll be of no help when applying to colleges, because I’m genuinely interested in them.

Ha ha ha… no. Euro is a joke. I had a terrible teacher, learned nothing in the class and still destroyed the Euro test. It had a freakin’ DBQ question on sports in Europe, that should tell you about how serious the test actually is.

The hard sciences (Physics, chem, bio), the language tests, and English literature are the only AP tests that I would call challenging. Maybe Calc BC, but I personally thought it was easy (then again, my teacher was awesome). Calc AB is NOT challenging. All you do is differentiate and integrate on very basic levels. It felt easier than algebra in 8th grade. Everything else I consider to be jokes.

And yes, APUSH is a joke AP. If you have a modicum of talent for history and a sprinkle of motivation that test will hardly be difficult. Admittedly I didn’t do as well for AP Gov, but that’s mainly because I totally ignored court cases which hurt me on the free response. The multiple choice, on the other hand, extremely easy.

Your schedule is hard, no joke for ap classes, enough said. Your schedule stacks up well enough to be considered by top notch colleges. So long as you took advantage of all your ap classes, you should be fine.

AP Human Geo was not a joke AP. I was in it this year and the first AP I was ever in. I also heard AP Art History is an easier AP. I think there are going to be harder AP’s for some people and easier one’s for others. Someone may think AP World History is a joke, while I think it is the hardest AP I ever took!

The general consensus seems to be that AP Human, AP Psych, and AP Enviro are the three joke APs. Why? Anybody can pass them simply by purchasing a review book and memorizing terms.
