What are the most conservative and most liberal schools?

What university is the most conservative and which was is the most liberal out there?

Liberal: Wesleyan
Conservative: Bob Jones, Liberty

I'm sure there are lots of ultra liberal LACs too.

Where is Bob Jones... never heard of it

Bob Jones University

It's in South Carolina.

no wonder ...

Another really conservative college is University of the South (aka Sewanee). Or so I've heard.

would it be safe to say that most southern colleges are most conservative?

A few other conservative colleges:

Furman University
Pepperdine University

Yale and Brown have reputations for being very liberal.

how about Harvard and Princeton?

I go to the University of North Carolina, which is a very liberal school, so no, not all southern schools are conservative.

No, but it is probably safe to say that most conservative colleges are southern (in general, colleges are liberal, with a minority of moderates and conservatives). Certainly on average, the southern schools are probably more conservative than the northern schools.

Wabash is conservative

would Reed be very liberal?

Oral Roberts U in Tulsa, OK is also very conservative. I wonder if there are any nonwhite-very conservative colleges out there....

Generally, Southern schools are more conservative, as are Catholic schools or very religious schools. Generally.

Reed is very liberal.

Sarah Lawrence is by far the most liberal place that comes to mind.

Definitely Sarah Lawrence. I've never seen anything like it.

Almost all colleges (or least those in the top 100) are predominately liberal, so when we call a school "conservative", we're talking about maybe 50% conservative, or simply a lesser number of feverish, stereotypical college liberals--with the notable exceptions of Bob Jones and BYU, perhaps.
