<p>As the title says, I was wondering what the strongest majors in seas are, and what the most employable majors in seas are. There was a similar thread but it didn't contain much useful information. I understand that most employable and strongest could be different things, so answer in whatever way you wish is most appropriate. Thanks in advance.</p>

Employable == Financial, Biomed and Computer</p>

<p>All departments are highly employable, especially the Mechanical engineering department</p>
<p>something like applied physics is not all that employable unless you want to get into quantitative finance (in which case you better have a high gpa). If you want to work in finance, gpa is much more important than major, and industrial engineering / operations research is the easiest department to do well in, thus those majors become the most employable.</p>

<p>The EE department is most certainly NOT the strongest, nor in the top 3 for that matter. All the EE’s I knew have said as much.</p>
<p>Beyond that, all of the majors are employable, some just cater to different fields. If you want finance then any of them will work. Most will get you a job in a “classic” field (ie mech = mech firm, chem = chem company, civil = civ firm, etc) and all will probably get you into grad school but some will also offer other good opportunities. Biomed and chem are good for IP law, consulting, etc…</p>
<p>Something that most kids in high school dont get is that your school and major will only get you in the door. It’s you who gets the job or doesnt. Interviewing skills are sooooo much more important than anything else. Old boy networks and nepotism are nice but they will only get you so far.</p>
