Hey, I'm a transfer student and can some of you let me know about the social environment (not the snow haha) at Cornell?

Because, unfortunantly, the school where I'm transferring from, most of the people are pretentious, shallow, and rich. Sex and partying plays a big part of our lives. So I've gotten used to walking into an elevator and just plain out hitting on all the girls in it. I've gotten used to walking up to a girl and telling them straight out that I want to nail em in the back.

I know that isn't the style at Cornell and don't want to make the mistake of doing that elevator thing on some cornell girl if you know what i mean. I'm not going to name my current college, but its somewhere down south, so some of you could probably figure it out.

So what is the culture like at Cornell? I'm transferring from a top party school in the nation where students just hit the clubs every night and drive around in their mercedes and ferraris.

I think the thing you'll find about Cornell is that there is huge diversity in the population...not talking about race, but more like what people are interested in what they like to do, etc. I'm sure there are those types of people everywhere, but Cornell is not dominated by one particular social group. You will meet people who are "you're style." Hope that helps some.

haha, classy.

I feel like the prominence of sex and partying depends on who you hang out with here.
