well, what are they?

for mine, you can renew books (online!) for an indefinite amount of time. So I have like 135 books checked out now. However, if someone puts an online hold on the book you want - its due date changes and you have to return it in a week. It's an interesting system.

Now it has been integrated with WorldCat so I can request books from other libraries. ^_^

I...uh...haven't checked out any books from the library

i've only gone to the library a couple of times and thats because my classes were showing movies in the theater in the basement there. other than that i avoid the library.

I avoid our library as well. It's the worst building on campus...dark and dreary, with nearly no windows. It's very clausterphobic...it's one of those places that you picture horror movies in. I'm scared of turning a corner on the deserted oversized books floor and finding a dead body.

my stupid library closes at midnight. w.t.f.. its a freakin major research university and the library closes at midnight. thats WEAK. the library at UC Berkeley closes at 2am. and during finals week its open 24hrs. here during finals week it closes at 2am. whoopdeedoo. it p1sses me off.

I go to the library computer lab to make copies on the scanner of study guides that I produce for my study sessions (we all have 500 pages we can print free from the computers and because I live at home this is the only way I use them). Other than meeting someone now and then I too usually stay clear of the school library.

If you live in PA, you can renew materials online at any of the PA libraries that are in the network. You can also request materials from other libraries and drop off those materials at the local one. The cards are available at the nearest public library and chances are you already have one if you live in PA. PA's library system has a lot of good resources online as well. I usually go to one of three local libraries for the times I need a library, where I go depends on what I need and/or where I am that day.

Our library kinda sucks...the computers are always breaking, noisy, uncomfortable furniture, and a small niche of books. But, we can get books from any other library by request, and print unlimited for free. (included in student fees)

No idea why they still charge for copies, but I don't need to make too many. The place always has a funky smell, and isn't open enough hours.
