Seems mostly correct, except item 4 on Cons. Pitt has a good minority population. Its urban environment gives everyone much more opportunities/diversity. Item #4 should be removed from this list.

I would argue with 2 and 3 of the cons.

First, Pittsburgh is not very cold and snowy if you’re actually from some place that is cold and snowy. Both my kids went there and thought it was quite funny that people from Pittsburgh think they get a lot of snow. Compared to the south, sure it’s cold and snowy. Compare to New England, not so much.

Second the campus is not large compared to other similarly sized schools and certainly much smaller than many large publics. It’s probably one of the smaller campuses we visited. According to Pitt, total campus size is 132 acres.

I would argue with 1 of the cons. The vast majority of public universities cost way more for out of state students. This is not unique to Pitt.

I would rebut cons 3 and 4. The campus is not large in my opinion for the number of undergrads. It’s at most a 15-17 min walk from one end to the other. There is a brutal hill to walk to get from lower to upper campus, but definitely not spread out at all. Regarding point 4, my daughter chose Pitt specifically for the racial/cultural diversity. Much more diversity than many comparable size/rank schools.

I also think it snowed once or twice this winter. Now if you said it was cloudy a lot, that I could agree with!
