<p>^^ hahah really? I swear, this has always bothered me… my parents and the rest of my family ALWAYS tell me that we’re white because we are Assyrian, but I don’t look or feel white, lol. </p>

<p>They tell me that I’m basically lying if I check off the “other” box. No AA benefits for me!</p>

<p>hahaha even though i consider myself as both somali AND black but most people don’t really consider me black…(just because i don’t look “black”…but i mean africa is soo diverse not all africans look like the ones u see on t.v. LOL.). along with many other east/horn of africans (like, northern sudanese, ethiopian, eritrean ppl etc…) since our feature are more “narrow” or “caucasion” as many would like to describe it (even our hair texture is very different usually very soft instead of coarse like many other “typical” africans).Even though the majority of us have dark skin (but apparently im lightskinned because of my mixture? But i heard that we look like that b/ca couple of thousand years ago we migrated from upper (southern) egypt/north sudan (which was nubia before) so that could be why?</p>

<p>LMAOOO. that’s actually very true. It’s just that most east africans have a lot of pride…and we even have our own version of the N word (yes i’m serious) at least in 3-4 different words…yepp they’re quite racist. Basically they think/see themselves as being more superior than other blacks.</p>
