What are the Real Acceptance Rates?

Everyone on CC knows that Harvard's acceptance rate is less than 6% and that top 20 schools have low rates that are going down. But what percent do you think they really are when you take out the students applying to Yale with 1 AP class, a 3.4 GPA, a 26 ACT, and few ECs?

Especially with schools like UChicago trying to get everyone to apply?

That is the question everyone wants to know the answer to.

I’ve been pilloried for it, but I think for the most qualified candidates (ACT 34+, 3.9+ GPA, 8+ APs, great ECs) the odds are probably more on the order of 25-30%.
