I have been directly admitted to the Kelley School of Business. I love to play basketball and work out. I am wondering if IU students have unlimited access to basketball courts and fitness machines. I need to have a school where I can go to play basketball at the rec center everyday. I am also wondering about how the intramural at IU are. All answers are appreciated.

There are two fitness centers for students that are free: the SRSC and the HPER building (Wildermuth Center) as it’s commonly called.

IU prides itself on the number of students that participate in intramural sports.

Intramural and club sports are very popular at IU. There is even a day set for signing up for both. The SRSC is the best place to lift, and it’s a pretty good gym for a college. As for playing basketball, until they repair the HPER, your only option is the SRSC. I hear there are hour lines sometimes, but the HPER is being repaired as we speak. When that’s done, there will be many more basketball courts open.

Do the weight rooms get very crowded ?

They can during peak times.
