Can someone tell me or give me a link to the core classes that students at USC have to take? I dread English and I hope I never have to take that class again... I'm a computer science major btw.

In general, all students are required to take 6 General Education (GE) classes in 6 categories. In addition, there is a foreign language requirement, a writing requirement and a diversity requirement.

Some AP classes count for a GE, some majors have slightly altered GE or language requirements, and the Thematic Option program (if you get in) substitutes for all the GEs and writing classes.

See here for more details: [Undergraduate Education: The USC Core/General Education | USC Catalogue](http://www.usc.edu/dept/publications/cat2011/undergraduate/usc_core.html)
