usnews:
1. UCB
2. UVA
3. UCLA
Michigan
5. UNC
6. William and Mary
7. UCSD
8. UWisc
9. GT
10. UCI
11. UIUC
12. UCSB
UWash
14. PSU
UCD

thanks, kyle5000

does anyone know where Rutgers-NB ranked on USNEWS?

hmmm in no particular order and unless otherwise stated the main campus - and for undergrad - as grad schools are program specific.

virginia, berkeley, ucla, ucsd, michigan, unc, william and mary, wisconsin, illinois, penn state, texas, maryland, ucsd, vermont, and miami ohio.

of course there is quite a variation in those schools - i'd say virginia, berkeley, ucla, michigan, and unc are probably on a whole better than the rest.

UT is sorely missing from that list :(

Actually, it's:

1) UCB
2) UMich
UVA
3) The Rest

ACTUALLY, it is

1) UVa
2) UCB
2) Michigan
4) the rest, including UIUC, UW-Madision, UCSD, W&M, UCLA, UNC, PSU, U of Texas-Austin, University of Vermont...etc.

1) Berkeley
2) Michigan
3) Virginia/UCLA
4) The rest

Michigan State certainly belongs in the top 15 publics.

Why would you go to UVA and study something like physics? It's a TTT

ACTUALLY, it is

Because there's an "actual" answer to this question?

I won't rank them, but I will list 15 that I think are the best:

University of California-Berkeley
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of Virginia

University of California-Los Angeles
University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of Texas-Austin
University of Wisconsin-Madison

College of William and Mary
Georgia Institute of Technology
Indiana University-Bloomington
Pennsylvania State University-University Park
University of California-San Diego
University of Maryland-College Park
University of Washington

I'd put Berkeley and Michigan in a tie for first. And UW ahead of Texas, in a tie with UIUC.

So, this is my list:

UC Berkeley

University of Michigan

University of Virginia

UCLA

UNC-CH

UIUC

University of Wisconsin

William and Mary

UT-Austin

GA Tech

IU-Bloomington

Penn State

Maryland-College Park

Washington

UCSD

UC Berkeley

then UVA, UCLA, and UMich are all interchangeable.
