What are the top 3 colleges in your state?

So the question is... what state do you live in and what are the top 3 colleges overall in regards to ranking?

Since I live in California, my list of top three are:

1) Stanford
2) UCLA
3) UC Berkley

I live in CA also, yet I would say: Stanford, CalTech, Pomona. So I guess everything is just opinion, really.

Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, and then Davidson maybe?

I live in Virginia and it would be…1. UVA, 2. W&M, 3. Virginia Tech

In Kentucky, our top three are not too impressive:

University of Kentucky

Centre College

University of Louisville

In Texas
1.Rice
2. UT-Austin
3. SMU or TCU

In New Jersey
1.Rutgers, The state university
2.Princeton University
3.New Jersey Institute of Technology

Rice

UT

Trinity University

Uh…

Harvard

MIT

???, i’m inclined to plop Northeastern or BU or BC in here

There are too many to choose from.

UMich
Kalamazoo
MSU

The answer to #3 would clearly be Amherst or Williams College. Then, you have Tufts and Wellesley before any of those three schools enter the picture.

^ Don’t forget BC, Brandeis and Holy Cross

Massachusetts should get a special exemption and list ten since they have so many great colleges.

Also applies to California. After all, while both Cal Tech and Harvey Mudd are fantastic schools they’re terrible for a student who wants to major in the social sciences or humanities.

Michigan

1) University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

2) Michigan State University

3) Grand Valley State University

Maine is easy - Bowdoin, Colby, and Bates.

Also in Texas
1.Rice
2. UT-Austin
3. Trinity or SMU

New York"

Columbia

Cornell

Colgate

California

Stanford
Caltech
Berkeley

Can’t wait until some USC fan from Cali makes the serious post about how USC is top 3. Without excluding any colleges to suit my personal agenda, top 3 is almost indisputably (in no particular order):

Stanford
Caltech
Berkeley
