<p>As far as our neighboring state of Kansas goes, I’d say University of Kansas or Kansas State are the only options. Lol</p>
<p>New Hampshire only has one respected school: Dartmouth.
I suppose it’s followed by University of New Hampshire and Saint Anslem. But no one respects those schools at all. Most joke about ending up there.</p>
<p>^ What about St Michael’s College?</p>
<p>St. Michael’s is a great school…it’s in Maine though.</p>
<p>tommyboy, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but i want to take you to task for ranking Northwestern above the University of Chicago.</p>
<p>You <em>might</em> call them peers, but almost nobody would put NU above UChicago. </p>
<p>They are both cars, both very good cars, but:</p>
<p>U Chicago is the Rolls Royce</p>
<p>Northwestern is the Bentley</p>
<p>(can’t wait for car enthusiasts to pick that apart… hopefully most of you get the generally accepted distinction. hehe)</p>
<p>I’m a Big Ten guy… I think that Northwestern is a truly awesome school – definitely top-15 for undergrad among national universities and excellent at the grad level (Kellogg School – hello); not quite as prestigious at the PhD. U Chicago is just a little bit better. Especially at the PhD level.</p>

<p>Though as @bourne13 showed earlier, there are questions when it gets past #1 Duke. Depending on what you want Wake, Davidson, or UNC could be debated as the second best school. I’ll take Wake as two because it’s a great combination of UNC and Davidson.</p>
