i wanna apply to the top 5 csus next year. anyone know?

You just want to apply to the “top 5” regardless of whether that campus offers your major? There are 23 CSU campuses, and it would be a better idea to research which ones offer programs you are interested in, are in locations that appeal to you, and are the size you are interested in (they range from about 800 students to over 30,000).

So the “top 5” will vary depending on what each student is looking for. You might want to start here [CSUMentor - Explore Campuses](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU) . You can research campuses and apply to CSU using that link. Good luck!

Long Beach, San Jose, Cal Poly SLO, San Diego, and Fresno (if you like football.)

Cal Poly SLO, Cal Poly Pomona, San Diego, San Jose, Long Beach, and maybe add Fullerton if you are willing to stretch the list to six.

Stanislaus, East Bay, Long Beach, San Bernardino, Humboldt State, Sonoma State

^ lol no

^lol this is what Forbes says:

Cal Poly SLO

Cal State San Bernardino

Cal Maritime

Sac State

Cal State Fullerton

Now, I’ve heard of Forbes. Never heard of you.

This is how useless saying “name the top five” is. It all depends on individual needs, and school strengths.

and what’s wrong with any of those colleges?

Let’s let US News decide this one then haha

National University
-San Diego State - 3rd Tier

Universities-Master’s (West:
-Cal Poly-SLO #6
-CSU - Long Beach #26
-CSU - Chico #30
-Cal Poly - Pomona #32
-CSU - Fullerton #32
-Sonoma State #32
-CSU - Fresno #38
-Humboldt State #38
-San Jose State #38
-CSU - Stanislaus #45
-San Francisco State #45
-CSU - Bakersfield - 3rd Tier
-CSU - East Bay - 3rd Tier
-CSU - Northridge - 3rd Tier
-CSU - Sacramento - 3rd Tier
-CSU - San Bernardino - 3rd Tier
-CSU - San Marcos - 3rd Tier
-CSU - Dominguez Hills - 4th Tier
-CSU - Los Angeles - 4th Tier

Liberal Arts College
-CSU - Monterey Bay - 4th Tier

Baccaulareate Colleges (West)
-California Maritime College #5

So I think we can conclude that the top 5 CSU’s are: SLO, Long Beach, Chico, Pomona and Fullerton.

Ok so I was way off but at least I got 4 out of 6 schools in the top 50 for masters universities :)

Pierre093,

“So I think we can conclude that the top 5 CSU’s are: SLO, Long Beach, Chico, Pomona and Fullerton.”

Why would I conclude that? I think you can conclude that those five are the top 5, if you wish. The only reason Sonoma wasn’t included in your top 5 conclusion is because it starts with an S and Fullerton starts with F. They both were #32. See how arbitrary this all is.

CSUs have now decided to focus on students from their areas. It’s no longer like top UCs, your best chance is the one close to home unless you have grades much higher than their medians.

haha true, whatever I should stop commenting on this

As others have pointed out, so much depends on your major and your personal preferences.

This links shows the most selective CSUs (impacted campuses and majors)
