I'm thinking about going to Ohio State next winter. I just finished my first year of JC in California, and got a 3.5 GPA with 30 semester credits. I'm going to take another 15 credits this Fall, and was thinking about transferring there this January. My uncles went there and my cousin currently goes there so I have family there.

I hear it's not super competitive, but I just wanted to hear what other people know.

Thanks

The only requirement Ohio State has for students is to act like jackasses during sporting events and to give the rest of the big ten a bad name.

Well I can do that so I guess I’m a lock to get in, but I was thinking more along the lines on whats a good GPA to have

They take like 80% of transfers or something. Basically don’t fail at life. But yeah, start working on GECs if you want.

The high rate of transfer is in part due to guaranteed acceptance agreements with satellite campuses. I don’t know how easy it is to transfer from out of state, but I would assume a 3.5 is alright. My stepbrother had a roommate sophomore year who had transferred from OOS CC with a 3.4, but keep in mind that every application is different.

I know quite a few people who got in with 2.0’s. It’s basically have enough credits to be a sophomore.

Thanks guys for the replies. I guess I’m basically a shoe in which is great.

Yeah you’ll have no trouble getting in. It gets a lot of crap on CC but it’s an excellent school despite its lack of selectivity. It’s certainly on the rise and it aims to be able to match Michigan academically in the future.

what are their ACT req’s? or is that for some reason not important as far as transfer?
