What are these schools most known for?

I like this thread. How about these schools:

Brown
U Penn
Haverford
Brandeis
Pomona
Occidental

Brown - the least preprofessional of the Ivies; students run the gamut from slackers to future dictators

U Penn - the most preprofessional of the Ivies; one of only two that didn't begin as a LAC (the other being Cornell.)

Haverford - quietest, least prepossessing of the little ivies; has gotten a tad preppy in recent years.

Brandeis - opened in 1948 (same year that the State of Israel was declared) shot to within a hairs breadth of the ivies, then plateaued in the 1970s.

Pomona - the biggest sandbox in the Claremont playground; plays well with others.

Occidental - diverse Cali student body; semi-urban campus; not sure why it isn't more of a contender. I think people assume it's a Claremont College.

is tufts really preppy ( a la Williams or Middlebury)? my daughter likes tufts, but is allergic to preppy (we visited in the summer, so it's hard to tell - the tour guide said the kids are "balanced").

True story: I spent the better part of a week last year trying to woo a cross-admit choosing betweenTufts and Wesleyan (I could look up the thread, but, I'm at work and I'm too lazy.) He was admitted from the W/L at both. I think the deal breaker was that at Wesleyan he would have had less reason to bring his BMW.

^^^ if it's any consolation, i would attend tufts before wesleyan ;)

^Yeah, me too, but not because of my Prada shoes; it's their spectacular International Relations department.

I know I'm bringing back an old topic, but seriously:

Why the hell does Wash U St. L send kids about 5 pounds of mail? Seriously? A whole magazine on financial assistance, when all other colleges only need a page or two?

And also, I'm sorry, are there any MORE buildings on your campus besides those two (hideous) towers whose picture is stamped on EVERY SINGLE GODDAMNED PAGE OF YOUR 3,284 PAMPHLETS, MAGAZINES, BROCHURES, NOVELS, POSTMARKED BILLBOARDS, etc.?
