What are UC baccalaureate units?

I’m interested in making the Honors Program at UCSB and don’t know my status of admission. (To the Honors Program, that is). I’ve had an ok high school career—rank 25—and am going to summer sessions (Freshman Summer Program). The honors site reads that I’d need 12 uc baccalaureate units to make it in if I’m not invited…what are those? >_<

You should have posted this in the UCSB forum. It looks like you already understand basically how to get in, so I’ll get to the point.

Most classes at UCSB are four units, while some are five, and seminars are usually one. So what it’s telling you is that after taking three classes (or more), if you have a 3.5 GPA or above, you’re eligible for the honors program. (Oh, and in real life, no one calls them “baccalaureate units” - they’re just “units.”) You just have to keep at least a 3.5 to stay in the program, along with some other things.
