What are ways to get solid A's in hard AP/Honors Classes?

Sometimes I seem to have trouble with some AP classes but not others, is there a almost-sure way of getting A's? Is there a certain type of procedure that you guys follow?

Besides good ol' fashioned studying, just take care of yourself. Don't be one of those teenagers that tries to run on 5 hours of sleep each night, even if you're awake to study. Seriously, it kills your concentration, and you won't be able to retain most of what you've taken in.

Other than that, you'll have to be more specific.

5 hours on a good night. 0 hours on a bad one.

Although my friend and I pride ourselves upon how many allnighters we pull.

Umm get easy teachers? Make your teachers love you?

My strategy is to pwn the first couple tests and develop a cushion. By that time, you will know what classes to put a majority of your time on, and which classes to slack off a bit in. Learn to manage your time that's all.

You gotta develop your own your preferred and effective studying technique. To do so, you have to figure out whether you are a visual or an auditory learner and create a studying scheme that fits your type.

I second robot, it's important to do well on the first one or two tests, then you can evaluate how hard the class is and if you can afford to slack off.

Thanks everyone, I sometimes have trouble retaining what I read for Humanity classes like English and Government, any tips on retaining more of what is being read?

I would say "study"?
