How do I get started on my need-based financial aid applications? Or do I not worry about it until I get accepted? My parents and I are confused as to what we are exactly supposed to fill out during this time if we want financial aid. Could someone give like a checklist of things to do right now (and deadlines preferably).

It's probably school-dependent, so these are the schools I applied to:

Harvard
Princeton
MIT
Caltech
Stanford
UC Berkeley
UCLA

Thanks very much (the only thing we have done so far is filled out a FAFSA form)

You really need to go to the web sites of each school you applied to as soon as possible and check their individual deadlines and requirements. The deadlines are probably soon for the private schools and they will probably require profile/css which asks for a lot of info.

You need to look on the web sites for each school for individual deadlines. Many of them may already have passed, or are coming up very soon. The private schools you have on your list also need the CSS profile from the College Board to be filled out. I would pursue this right away, if I were you. Like today. Crossposted--Like minds, swimcatsmom!

Depends on the schools. FAFSA for all. CSS if they ask for it. Looking at your list most, if not all, require CSS. As franglish said - do it ASAP. Now. Today.
