I think I’ll have AP English summer readings, but thankfully AP US Govt and AP Psych have no summer work.

Going to be working a bit for college funds and such “work at a local gas station…$9.05/hr!”

and…enjoying my time off!

I don’t have much this summer (rising 10th), but hopefully next year I will try to do more:

Working at a computational education foundation for 6-8 weeks (w/ stipend pay)
Playing A LOT of tennis (trying to make varsity next year, was top JV this year)
Study for SAT, as I have to take one in October for NCSSM
Having fun with the family traveling for ~2 weeks

I may also spend some time preparing for one of the Olympiads (Chem/Bio/Physics) or trying to get acquainted with some of my next year’s AP topics.

-Visiting a couple colleges
-Going to my cousin’s graduation party/visiting all my relatives in that respective state

The sad thing is, we actually don’t know. They’re supposed to tell us right before school gets out though.

Oh. We had to read Guns, Germs, and Steel, didn’t know if this was something a lot of classes read or not. In case you DO have to read it:

Worst. Book. Ever. No really. The whole book could have been summarized in 10 pages, max. But no, it was about 370 or so, maybe more.

I am surprised you hated it, we read it for AP Human Geo and I thought it was great. Reddit rated it 17/200 on their top 200 books list.

I heard of Guns, Germs, and Steel, though I never read it. It seems pretty interesting

Yeah, the concept about what Jared Diamond tried to explain is interesting, but I found that he seemed to repeat the same things over and over again, and it was just too bland for my likings (and everyone else in my class), IMO.

-Week visiting family up north
-Volunteering
-Working on EE
-Mini-Vacations
-Visiting colleges

-going to the beach
-getting a new pool

working so I can actually pay for college in the fall
hopefully a few road trips
writing a lot

Summer classes at the Community College.

Do all schools give out AP summer work? And if so, when/how to we find out about it?

Taking a sport
Doing summer homework
Taking SAT classes
