What are you doing this summer?

It'll be my summer after senior year and I don't have a job yet. Completely broke so I can't travel. What should I do?

What are you doing this summer?

Smoking mad weed.
I’m joking, not really. Mainly I’m gonna be hanging out with friends and taking 2 courses at a local college. Might get a job if i only take 1 course, but it doesn’t look like i am. This is going to be the summer of my junior year, btw.

For you, I suggest you just hang out with friends and have a great time before you go off to college.

Hanging out, but most of my friends are seniors who are leaving so for the first month of summer I’ll be making the most of my time with them.

Other than that, studying for SAT I, writing my college essays and setting up my applications, asking teachers to write my letter of recommendation, working out + playing basketball with friends, and I might try find something eles to do.

And yeap, this will be my junior year summer :P

Going to Ireland, interning with the state police, and my French pen pal is coming to visit me  This is the summer after my junior year.

Fermi Lab internship, visiting Greece for about a month, hanging with friends. Oh and probably writing my NU essays for early decision. Lookin forward to it!

I’ll be returning to Singapore to visit my immediate family (mother, father, sister), before going on a massive Eurotrip (France, Germany, Poland, maybe Italy and Switzerland) with my church for one month and volunteering there as an interpreter. It’s going to be a blast! Oh, and writing my college essays…

Well, I hope I get into this summer program at Stanford. If not, some classes at CC, such as Vietnamese, and try to find a lab research internship. Or volunteer at a hospital to get more volunteer hours. And of course, summer hw from AP classes, along with long hours of playing video games I miss during this school year.

Going to Israel for my younger brother’s Bar Mitzvah (2 weeks), assist in teaching English (~2 weeks), and lots of acting classes! Hopefully I’ll learn Japanese and write a book =)

Studying. And hopefully finding time to write some C++ programs that actually work. And hopefully putting some miles of mountain trail behind me.

Costa Rica. 8 weeks. 12 credits :).

4 weeks of Spanish immersion. 3 weeks of volunteer work with an indigenous women’s eco-farm. 1 week of reflection (relaxation).

^Enjoy it. Ever been down there before?

^ No. Never been anywhere without English as their primary language (except for LA :p)

Enjoying the break before college. Hopefully, it won’t be a bad one.

I’m going 1 week camping and touring some colleges.

^^ Lol. Well, have a good time, and do some good for those people. If it’s anything like my experience they’ll do you more good than you’ll do them.

^ Thanks. This is where I’m going … apparently, I am going to live in essentially a hut. Oughta be… interesting. Welcome ⋆ Asociación Talamanqueña Ecoturismo Conservación ecotours;
