excuse me, but i can't hold my excitement. im going to go ape-ish on the whole wednesday.

Scream, cry, throw up, faint…then apply for housing. Haha. Minus the housing part, all of those things will probably happen if I don’t get accepted, too…

what were your test scores?

Go crazy, then put on all my FSU gear and go out with my friends to celebrate. Afterwards I’ll probably wear something with an FSU/Seminole logo on it every day until I leave…

Good idea thaileos. I’m gonna go buy a sticker as well (I bought a shirt yesterday)

I suggest - for real, this is no joke - near constant checking of your status page and then - if you are accepted, before you engage in any histrionics, proceed immediately to the Housing website to secure the all-important Housing Priority Number (which will follow you all 4 years).

Some students find dorm life very convenient and stay in the dorms for their undergraduate time. The lower-the-better Priority Number is essential to ensuring you get the dorm you want.

fsu housing said that applications are available december 13 - a day BEFORE acceptance. is this when i should start or is this a bug?

@Jossie, my SAT was 1270/2010 and ACT was 30.

EDIT: I just tried to do my housing thing and it says: University Housing will be accepting new applications for the Fall 2012 term beginning 12/13/2011… Please return at that time to complete your Housing agreement.

I hope that’s true!!!

how much is the housing deposit?

I think I read that it is $225.

and if we get accepted are we supposed to signin here:
https://cfprd.oti.fsu.edu/dsa/housing.cfm?go_url=https://nwrdc.fsu.edu:1204/fsysrr98

3 more hours until you can apply for housing, apparently

Question… When we go to pay a housing deposit, is it only used to assign a priority number? Or do I also have to give a list of dorms at that time?

Assuming my son gets accepted! (fingers crossed)

Yes, you have to give a list of dorms and answer a few other questions, but don’t worry about what you put down. You can change your preferences up until May 1st (the date you have to notify FSU of your admission acceptance). The priority number is assigned when the application is submitted, making changes does not effect your number. Also remember to pay the deposit, and send the parents signature form (if required) within the 10 day time period, otherwise your priority number will be canceled.

Thanks! All good info…

My son is hoping to get into the College of Music. I know his first choice is Cawthon but does anyone have other suggestions for convenient/decent dorms at that end of campus?

Landis, Gilchrist, Broward… Pretty much anything east-side will work for your son (except Jennie Murphree, which is girls only).

Cawthron has a Music LLC. Your son may want to look into it. LLC’s requires a separate application and priority numbers are not applicable. The university sets so many rooms aside for LLC students and those rooms are filled by application only. A friend of my daughter lives in Cawthron as a member of WIMSE, her priority number was close to 7000. She really enjoys it and was able to meet a lot of people with similar interests.

Oh! I didn’t know the priority number didn’t matter then applying to an LLC. Better to not take chances though! We’re going to keep our eyes peeled and put in his housing deposit tonight.

And thanks again…

Was looking on FSU web site today and it says it’s 69deg and sunny! Sure beats the weather up here in CT right now!

The instant I saw that I was accepted to FSU last year, I immediately signed up for Student Housing. You guys should do the same… Then again I was a transfer.

how long does that take?
