What are you sending as an update?

If you are sending an update to enhance your deferral, what are you going to include?

Additional letter of recommendation.

^I don’t think they’d want another one, assuming you already submitted a supplementary recommendation to go along with your application.

This is what I’ve already sent:

an additional letter of recommendation (didn’t submit any supplementary recs when I first applied - just 2 teacher recs and one from the director of the school board [my senior year HS doesn’t specifically designate a counselor])

letter of interest/updates on what I’ve been doing recently, as well as providing more context to some stuff that was mentioned on my application

supplementary note explaining some unusual circumstances on my app (sent this in lieu of the Harvard supplement’s optional essay, since I never did that one)

I didn’t know that additions to applications were due by January 20th. I had everything planned out. I was planning to send additions by the time I got January SAT scores back. I figured since they accepted January SAT scores, it would not be too late. Am I screwed? Do you think if I sent them a package with updates (probably by mail since I’ll put everything in a nice package), they will still accept it? Its not fair because so many other colleges continue to accept updates until their committees meet, even if you’re not deferred.

Jan. 20 is not a firm deadline. You shouldn’t worry about it.
