So how does everyone manage working while going to school, especially during the summer? If one takes 2 summer classes for a total of 8 credits, how can they balance the accelerated pace, increased workload and their job of 40+ hours?

Also, do you think the subjects make a difference? So for example, how's a wordy, pre-1600s literature class with lots of reading in comparison to a general physics class with involved, detailed processes?

I'm very curious about this and looking for some advice. Thanks!

For one year I took one physics class and one calc class each quarter, and no others, while working full time in the evenings. Even with a very accomodating boss who looked the other way on me studying during work (it was janitorial work and I always got done early), eventually I had a midterm coming up that I needed more study time for, and I had to either quit that day or risk not getting an A. So I quit, started being full-time by next quarter, and have never had a full-time job since.

I was able to keep it up for as long as I did thanks to an easy, stress-free job, an easy boss (I was working for da gubmint, they don’t care about results just paperwork), and being good at math and physics.

I’ve done this every summer. I take classes online and find it quite manageable. However, I didn’t have time for anything else. Rarely got to see friends and no vacations.
