CC, Disboards for Disney planning and community, local real estate listing site to browse houses for fun, FB, and currently, Indeed. DD’19 is looking for an internship for summer and she and I browse for ideas. The other day I found a job I could totally do- holding down notes on the keyboard while the pipe organ tuner is up in the chamber! (I’m a church organist.)
Zillow is fun.
I like “What do you see from your window” on Facebook also. It’s very relaxing. There are beautiful scenes all around the world.
I use TripAdvisor for reviews of hotels and restaurants. They don’t censor bad reviews like some review websites do.
I’m still a little annoyed at TripAdvisor because they took down my post criticizing a brewery for not following the state’s mask mandate last year. In the long run, the guy got his due. The state shut him down altogether. I’m glad the place is under new ownership because I like going there.
ohhhh, the Shetland webcams are wonderful! I am officially getting nothing done today
I also belong to several FB group pages for bird ID and plant ID. As a bird photographer, I’m a member of several bird photography pages, as well.
While I visit this CC site each day, the place where I spend more of my time is the Photography on the Net (POTN) site: Photography-on-the.net Digital Photography Forums where I post my photos and discuss all things photography. I’ve been a member there for nearly two decades now.
I was a highly rated reviewer on TripAdvisor (partly because I used to travel so much) but have largely stopped posting there because they took down reviews of women who had been raped/sexually assaulted at some Caribbean resorts (maybe Jamaica, I can’t remember). Occasionally I still post to do something nice for a restaurant or hotel that has been particularly good or particularly bad. But, I am more skeptical of reviews.
When I was flying a lot, I used to use Flyertalk. I still use joesentme.com for travel, which has been very useful over the years, and also looked at a couple of other sites like The Points Guy.
Other sites: LinkedIn (very useful for work), The Economist (though I use the old app rather than the new one), Wall Street Journal online, WaPo, the HIll, Politico, Google News and Apple News, timeanddate.com (for planning meetings with people on other sites).
I also use youtube, youtube tv for sports. For tech stuff, Gizmodo and The Verge.
I posted about a place last year because they weren’t following state mandates and they took my post down. So stupid.

Wow, thanks for mentioning the censorship by TripAdvisor. I guess one must read their reviews with that in mind. I’ve read sone fairly negative reviews—wonder what may have been omitted.
Loving Windowswap. New addiction
