I guess it’s a little strange that so many people want to get married and have kids. Obviously that’s just me, but… ugh.

not strange at all…most people want to be surrounded by loving family in their old age. their own parents/siblings might be long gone, but its their spouse, kids, and grandkids who will be around, kind of like the imprint they leave in the world. people without family are usually pretty lonely later on in life (not saying everyone is obviously). People’s relationships are usually what determine happiness, not how much money they have

your ambitions and life dreams at the age of 40 will be so different from goals at 17. if you’re class of '14, you haven’t even started college yet…i guarantee at the end of college your goals will be a little different (not saying you’ll want to get married all of a sudden :))

go to college i am so anixous dont know if i will get in or not

Travel to every country I have an interest in visiting (many), mostly while teaching English abroad.
Start a creative or art-related business.
Possibly get into the film industry.
Other than that, I’m taking it day by day.

my plan is to:
complete undergrad
go to med school
-hopefully find future husband there ![]()
continue with medical training
own a home
by the age of 32, have some kids (5)
eventually, work in a small practice or open one
then 5 years later, begin a skincare line

complete engineering undergrad
law school
patent lawyer and $$$$$$
move somewhere better and have a balling lifestyle
wife and kids

drink the breastmilk of a cambodian immigrant

I’m not debating that, I just didn’t realize it was a “life goal.” Like, of all the goals to have… get married and have kids? That’s a life goal? I guess everyone has different ambitions. I just have bigger goals in the long run. I have absolutely no desire to have kids and almost no desire to get married (I prefer a settled, long term relationship - the whole “sign the papers and exchange rings” is stupid and has nothing to do with love). You can have plenty of great relationships without a gaggle of kids. I’m sure my goals will change, but I would be extremely surprised - extremely - to find myself with kids in 20 years, though I’d be less surprised to find myself married (although, considering I’d have to actually gain some civil rights before then, it’s increasingly unlikely).

-Graduate college in four years w/(hopefully) a double major in Journalism and Chinese and a minor in Spanish
-Study and work abroad in China, Spain, S. America
-Work as a Journalist in New York or Chicago
-Work as a Translator in D.C. or abroad
-Go to law school (maybe) and work in Divorce/Family Court
-Get married by 28 and have XX/XY twins at 30
-Travel all over the world and become multi-lingual
-Write a best-seller
-Be happy
-Be healthy

i plan to graduate and get a job then have success within my career as a nurse

i love your goals

Finish undergrad in economics
find an good internship
earn a Ph.D in economics
work in the financial services sector or for the Fed ![]()
don’t want to get married or have kids

Earn a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, get a job in the video game industry as an A.I Programmer for 8 - 10 years or so, then move into middle management and become a Technical Director (hopefully in a top company) where I’ll probably stay.

I still have no idea if I want to go to grad school… and I’ll be done with my bachelor’s degree in December.

So yeah, I don’t really have any life plans… I have a lot of different scenarios that I always think about, but I end up changing my mind every two weeks or so. So I decided to stop planning ahead and I’ll just see where life takes me.

Currently, my goal for this year is to decide whether or not I want to attend grad school. If so, then I’ll decide what I want to study and where. Other than that, I’m just trying to enjoy the present as much as possible and stop wondering about the future.

The only thing that I’m pretty sure about is that I’d like to travel quite a lot in the future. Even then, I’m not sure where I’d like to go the most.

In no particular order:

Finish Undergraduate school

Get into a good (top 20) graduate school (hopefully for something like Engineering/Bussiness)

Live in a city loft
