I just picked the Plus 13. I don’t eat that much so I wanted to pick the Plus 10 but that’s only for 2nd semester, so I picked 13 for now and I’ll switch once 1st semester is over.

Plus dollars are money you can spend on restaurants/store on campus when you don’t want to eat at the dinning halls. Someone, please correct me if I’m wrong.

My plan is to do the 80 meal plan, then use and add plus dollars for additional meals. Total, it comes cheaper that any other meal plan, as far as I can tell. (alas, this only applies to 2nd years+ and residential colleges)

meals only carry over on semester 100/80/etc plans. weekly plans do not carry meals even week to week. plus dollars carry over on all plans. also if you search there is a thread on this from a year or two ago.

my first year I originally had unlimited and then I changed to plus 15, just because I do eat 3 meals everyday but 2nd semester I had some scheduling conflicts… and there were days that I couldn’t make it to the dining hall in time for dinner… so I figured more plus dollars would be helpful

but since first year I’ve used the upperclassmen 10 (not plus 10). actual meals are definitely a better deal than plus dollars… because things are really overpriced. but sometimes you just need plus dollars cause they are convenient… it’s up to you!

They said at orientation to make sure you select your plan so when D went to look at SIS it showed it already had the plus 15 or whichever it is for 1st years. That was what she was going to choose so do we need to actually go officially select it or does the default stay so she can leave it as is? Thanks!

So i went on the CampusDish website and ordered the Plus13 plan since I don’t plan on eating in the halls that much and I will be spendind some weekends down at VT with my gf, however I noticed that on my SIS I’m being billed for the Plus15. Does this mean that I’m being billed twice or did the one I choose on CampusDish replace it? Also who could I call at UVa to check this?
