What are your opinons on Crash Course?

I know a lot of you out there own this. So what do you guys think? Is it reliable? And does it really help? I bought it today to do some last minute reviewing before the big test on Friday. So far, I've read Princeton Review 2002-2003 version (I know it's old, but I've compared it to the new one, and not much has changed, except that there are some review questions after each chapter, and some stuff after Reagan's administration is included). Getting back on topic...so yeah, let me know. And what are you guys doing in preparation for the final week? just curious to know =] good luck everyone!

Read Amsco.

Not only does it take a ludicrous amount OF time to read, but it sure-shot covers the issues. Nothing is better-- I can’t imagine anything appearing on the test not being covered in the book.

The revised edition is 675 pages…and tiny, tiny font.

Yeah, I’ve heard of this AMSCO. Thing is, I cannot get this book by Friday. Even then, I won’t be able to finish, or make substantial progress. Have you looked at Crash Course before? And also, do you think online cram packets work?

I’m not sure about online cram packets, but I loved Crash Course. I was able to read it twice (once slowly/internalizing and second time to review) in ONE full day (I had last Friday off) before the SAT II on Saturday, and I felt super solid during that test. If you go to the SAT II US History thread, a ton of people were able to get 800s or at least 750+ with just Crash Course.

That being said… the AP is a lot harder. I’m going to supplement units such as Jacksonian themes and post-1950 with my thick 800-something page REA book, but honestly I think Crash Course definitely gives enough of a foundation for a solid 4, or 5 if you remember a lot from throughout the year in class. If you’re self-studying or had a really ****ty teacher, Crash Course will probably get you a 3 (MAYBE a 4). Good luck either way!

Crash Course is AMAZING. Since you don’t have time for AMSCO, just read through Crash Course a couple times and memorize all the stuff. EASY.

^Agree. With just four days to the test Crash Course is definitely the best option.
