I’m interning for veterinarian this summer, get a job -.- and do the AP Chemistry summer assignment.

@biovball: Next year I’m taking a “Calc BC and Calc 2” class. That’s basically the topics in BC that aren’t in AB, and then multivariable. I don’t know if we’ll go through everything you’d have to know in a multivariable class, but probably most of it.
However, I do know partial derivatives already, and I can tell you that those are easy, at least. =P

Work, hang out with friends, maybe find somewhere to volunteer…I don’t know. Volunteer hours can only get you so far. I’m also taking an EMT class, were by the end of the summer I’ll be a certified EMT-B in my state, so I’m hoping to volunteer at a local ambulance station this fall. It should be fun. :)

Oh yeah, and some reading I guess.

@FastNeutrino That’s good. I went kind of crazy today and signed up for a buttload of online courses (like 9) and now I’m screwed lol. One of them is discrete mathematics and combinatorics, so I’ll have to see how that goes.

MIT ocw :D

a LOT of reading. And, I’m so happy my parents are letting me, going to PAN @ Notre Dame (astrophysics camp for nerds^-^) and 2 classes at cornell. I’ve been thinking about self-studying some more multivariable calculus, but i don’t know how easy that’ll be when I haven’t taken BC yet…It doesn’t seem TOO bad so far, but khan academy makes everything simple!!!

@biovball Oh, gosh, good luck!!! I took one this year and…I’m still finishing it. I’ve heard discrete mathematics is a lot of fun if you have time to really get into it^-^

@Sophia7X yes
Thank heavens for the open courseware <3

I have a huge list of books to read (Atlas Shrugged, The Damned and the Beautiful, Canterbury Tales, etc., etc.)
I’m going to study geometry so I can skip up to pre-cal in the fall.
Also volunteer- I barely got a dozen hours this year.
I also need to seriously work on my French proficiency if I want to start Chinese.

I’m taking Alg II. I have summer HW for Eng Hon II and AP Euro. I am gonna be playing a lot of Piano. After seeing all the posts before me, I might learn some spanish vocab for spanish II. And not intellectual, but I’m gonna swim a lot. I wanna get in shape and I might do swim next year.

Memorize a whole bunch of stuff so I can dominate at Quiz Bowl next year.

Take AP Art History and read the Wealth of Nations (Smith), Economic consequences of the Peace (Keynes), the Federalist Papers (Madison, Washington, Hamilton) and a few art books that are well known.

I’ll be reviewing and studying new material for my IB classes. I also have a list of books I want to read, starting with Les Miserables. I’m also going to work on my Common App.

Finish my script/screenplay.

Turns out I won’t be taking a summer class. Whee. Thanks for not counting anything, school.

Instead, i’ll be doing a summer project for Gender Studies. Fun fun. Dunno what it is yet, but i’m already looking forward to it. :)

Get ready for college by sleeping and playing Xbox. Like seriously, am I the only one on here who doesn’t do something academic during the summer?

Shh, i’m trying to make myself look like i’m not a slacker, unlike the rest of CC.

Apart from my Gender Studies project, i’m not doing anything academic. I might write a college application essay or two, but other than that, i’m working and reading for fun.

I’ll have an internship at my favorite e-retailer, which will be exciting. ![]()
I’m going to be taking Precalculus outside of school and then self study AP Calc throughout the year, because my school won’t let me take any form of Calculus even if I take college level Precalc over the summer and get an A…
I’ll also be studying Mandarin so I can skip Mandarin 3 and go straight to Mandarin 4 Honors, because I love my Mandarin class but it isn’t challenging enough for me.
I’ll be going to a pretty prestigious writing program in Massachusetts for a bit so I’ll be doing a ton of reading and writing. I’m excited. :)

My boyfriend is moving in a few weeks so I will need to be busy. We have been together for about a year and a half now and we’ve been inseparable ever since. He will be going to college in September. This will be tough.

Ooh, my neck of the woods! That’s always exciting to hear.

Besides my 65 hr/wk job, I’m taking a summer precalculus class so that I can take AP Calc AB next year, I have to read Frankenstein for AP English, and I’m taking an online fitness class so i have room in my schedule next year and can graduate.

See Batman on the biggest IMAX screen in the country.
