We should help each other out by identifying social errors or pet peeves to avoid them in the future.

My own:

People who are loud for no good reason.
People who try too hard.
Any one who brags, especially for immature reasons such as being cooler than others.

The mistakes I make:

Not knowing when to have the right tone of voice, either too loud or too soft.
Daydreaming when someone talks for a long time.
There's probably more, but I can't think of anymore right now.

What social blunders especially annoy or anger you?

People who are clueless (not to be confused with dumb–just…out of touch.)

People who are constantly tardy.

Excessive cursing/excessive use of filler words, i.e. “like,” “um,” etc.

Loud talking on a cellphone/using the speaker on a cellphone while in a public space.

Anyone who requires constant reassurance

People who feel superior to others based on default reasons, i.e. being born a certain
race or gender. At least do something that requires more than blinking.

People who constantly ask to borrow/have something.

My mistakes:

I also second the daydreaming one

Acting before thinking–which has put me in trouble with so many professors.

Holding feelings of irritation in and then letting it explode on someone five months later

Not being tolerant of people’s differences (personality-wise).

There’s more:
I second the cursing, filler words, people always wanting to borrow something, and constant reassurance.
People who have an opinion about everything. Just being opinionated in general.
Self-righteousness
People who complain and criticize too much, especially when they think they’re so special for being so edgy and cynical while it is just typical youthful angst.
Non-conforming conformists
Contentious people.

As for myself:

I sometimes forget to greet people or say thank you.
Do not hold conversations very well unless I know the person or it is about something I know a lot about.
I’m not sure of how to deal with others when they have problems.
Sometimes I can’t tell if I have annoyed, angered, or offended someone.
If I’m really comfortable, I don’t know when to stop talking about something or to leave the person alone.
No concept of personal space. Moves too far or too close to people sometimes.
I kind of second the acting before speaking issue…

More:
People who talk as if know about something when they are not sure.
People who complain about doing poorly on a test when it’s their fault.
People who complain too much, in general. (I don’t want to hear about all your problems, sorry)
Lazy people!
People who curse are so annoying too.

My problems:
I have a hard time listening to people if I’m talking to them 1 on 1.
I’m always afraid I will offend someone with what I say so I don’t say anything.

-chewing gum or anything really with an open mouth. hate that sound!
-eating without fork/spoon
-people who think that ukrainians are asian
-people who are way too fake(like behave really fake if u now what i mean)

my mistakes:
-i can be boring, as in talking about something too much atc
-my life
-everything

I hate a lot of things and people. Here are a few for your indulgence:

-Walk on the left side of the sidewalk
-Wear baggy pants and walk a mile an hour because of it
-People walking more than 2 abreast
-People on the left side of the sidewalk who don’t move out of the way even if you’re on the right (both meanings apply lol) side of the sidewalk
-Old people becasue they walk slowly
-Little kids for the same reason
-Pretty much anyone else who walks slowly
-People who wear a lot of fragrance. Just one squirt on each side of the neck and one on the handkerchief! Come on now…
-I HATE environmentalists
-I pretty much hate any kind of extremist. Political, religious, etc
-People who dress poorly
-People who wear hats inside
-Public displays of affection are lacking in class
-People who lack class
-People who pop their collars. Why would you take a nice polo and ruin it like that?
-I’m not a big fan of slang
-People who blast their rap music
-People who use “good” when they should say “well.” That is probably one of my biggest because it plagues me so much
-People whose last names can be first names
-People who wear torn up clothing
-People who have tattoos
-People who have more than one earring in each ear
-People with piercings on any part of the body that isn’t an ear
-People on motorcycles
-People with loud cars
-Potheads
-Drunks that stumble around the street
-HIPPIES! THEY ARE EVERYWHERE HERE!
-Old, naked men in the pool changing rooms
-People who fart in public
-Teenagers that aren’t me or in my ultra small and close circle of friends
-People with facial hair
-People who wear too much makeup
-Mouth breathers
-People that quote movies all of the time
-People who yell in class
-People that laugh too easily
-People who gel their hair
-People who wear flip flops in the winter
-I forgot if I already said this, but people that wear ugh boots (I think that’s what they’re called)
-Those little kids and their parents who wear crocs

There are A LOT more

My problems:
-I mumble when I talk sometimes
-People have called me condescending

^ Damn, you hate everyone lol. I’ll have to admit that I actually don’t like almost everything you put up there. Especially those with no class. Money can’t buy class. Even if you are rich, you are still ghetto or white trash if you act stupid.

“-People walking more than 2 abreast
-People on the left side of the sidewalk who don’t move out of the way even if you’re on the right (both meanings apply lol) side of the sidewalk”

I agree with these 100%. I know if someone were walking toward me I would realize I was on the wrong side and move. If it hurts your pride to do something as simple as change sides of the sidewalk when someone is coming towards you then you have way too much pride.

I also don’t like it when people
talk too much, especially in a one-on-one conversation. Eventually I just get frustrated and stop listening or even trying to talk.
care if you say good when it should be well. Sorry if I want to be grammatically wrong instead of sounding pretentious.
voice strong opinions assuming you agree with them when you just met them.
spend weekend nights in college repeating “I don’t need to drink to have fun” over and over again and look down on people who aren’t scared to drink beer every once in a while.
only talk about academic subjects among peers or otherwise run a simple conversation into the ground by analyzing everything as if they were writing an essay on it.

My faults are
consistently being a few minutes late to plans with friends.
having trouble genuinely sympathizing with friends over small but still upsetting issues (C on an exam, boyfriend troubles, etc.).
being indecisive and leaving plans up to other people. Those other people also have this fault, though.

Misuse/butchery of the English language

Slow walkers

Overly serious people

Open-mouth chewers

Obnoxious smokers

Crappy music blaring anywhere (from ipods, car stereos, etc)

Uber competitive people/Pathetic supposed “alpha males”

Those with an air of undeserved arrogance (which, by my ever rigorous standards, is usually a peeve applicable to everyone)

People with a lot of pet peeves (aka the easily irked or annoyed) ;]

Whiny/High Maintenance people

And many more. These don’t look to be what I’d necessarily classify as pet peeves, either, but moreso things that annoy me.

There is one annoying thing that is probably in the top five of the things I hate: People who are nosy, so nosy that you feel as if they are only talking to you to find something to gossip or talk **** about behind your back later.

People who whine about talking *, yet do it themselves. Everyone talks * about everyone, the sooner people know that the better lol.

-People who hover over your shoulder when you’re on a computer/writing/reading trying to see what you’re doing. I never got this one. It’s the adult version of when dogs try to hump your leg. It makes people look entirely too eager lol.

Ditsy guys. Not trying to be sexist here, but if anything is worse than ditsy girls, it’s ditsy guys! Hard to define what I’m talking about, but if you’ve ever seen one you know what I mean…

my pet peeve is dealing with people that don’t have a life.
oh and it doesn’t help that they call and leave a gazillion voicemails when you TOLD them not to call. lol

-People that grunt when they speak.
-People that hack back mucus.
-People that talk way too loudly.
-People that back stab or talk behind others backs.
-People that are too negative.
-Walking too slowly.
-Chewing with their mouth full
-Listening to music too loudly on their ipods/players.
-People that talk too much and don’t ever let you in.
-Tapping feet
-Bad breath
-Nasty teeth
-On drugs

That’s all really. I have a high tolerance for people.

Things that I’m guilty of
-Being dumb
-Complaining (but only to my bf, poor him).
-Not knowing what to say to someone.
-Repeating the same question when I forgot that I asked the first time.
-Horrible pronunciation.
-Bragging (I’m not 100% on this).
-Not wanting to invite people places.
