What are your study habits?

Do you study every night for specific classes, right before a quiz, or do you study at all?

If you do study regularly, how do you usually go about it? I know many people who have very different study habits. Some just repeat things and try to memorize the content through pure reading, others use flashcards and other interactive aids.

I'm trying to find new ways to study for specific classes (foreign language) so I'm in need of some useful insight.

I study on materials that I didn’t understand from class and if there’s a test I usually study 2 or 3 days before.

Depends on the class.

I don’t study for electives because they are designed so that the kids who can’t handle honors classes can pass them.

I don’t really study for science classes very much, except if there are concepts or definitions I need to know.

For math classes, I usually go over how to do certain problems in my head the day of the test.

For English, I review vocab the night before, or I look at SparkNotes to refresh my mind on the reading that we will be quizzed over.

For social studies, I go over my notes a couple times the night before, and maybe once the day of the test.

I don’t study for foreign languages because they come to me very easily. Though if you are having trouble I can tell you that making flashcards to memorize vocab might help if you haven’t already thought of that.

For science I create a flow chart linking main concepts together.

For English I study a vocab word a day usually (have a weekly vocab test once a week for 60 points)

For math I take my time while doing the assignments, and then go over my mistakes.

For electives I generally don’t study except for AP computer Science.

For AP econ I just memorize vocab words and do practice problems we get.

My study habits are horrible. They’re really non-existent. I don’t actually study for any class. Which has it positives and negatives.

I don’t think I even know how to study properly…all i do is read my stuff and notes and then hope for the best -_-.

okay i really suck at starting to study
if my parents take away my ipod and tv
then i can study
but if i have the ipod, id be on there forever
i just procrastinate << NOT GOOD

I never really got studying. I just re-read the chapter, do practice problems from the book, and look at my notes.

I don’t get what “studying” is.

My study habit is that I generally don’t study until the day before the test. And even then, 30 mins to an hour at max per subject. Works fairly well, but then final exam is a *****.

Final Exams… I have no clue how I ace them. Like statistically speaking, I should get less than a C on them.

Our school only counts finals as 2 test grades.

If it was 25% of final grade like some schools I’d be really scared. -_-

Finals are 20% percent at my school. For the semester.

Year goes like this.

Midterm 10%
Final 10%

Quarters: 20%

^That’s not too bad.

I’m so glad there’s no final exam for social studies, that would be SO hard.

psh… I killed my Gov’t exam.

Midterm… 98… and I remember the question I missed.

Final exam… 100.

Wow you guys are lucky. Finals in my school are about 30-35% of our grade…

I have to study regardless! I envy student who don’t study and successfully thrive in any subject.

^^ Dear Lord…30-35%?! That’s like…you can slack off during the school year as long as you do well on the final -.-

I do not study every night for subjects. If I have a test on Monday I will study for it on Sunday and so on.

Generally I leave my schoolwork off until Sunday. I work best near deadlines.

I don’t study for AP lit tests or my honors class. All my other classes are either AP or dual enrollment, but I put them off until the night before. My dual enrollment bio class gets two nights of studying though. I just read my notes/book for bio/psych/humanities and do practice problems for physics c/calc bc. How much I study depends on how well I paid attention in class. Sometimes I study for like 20 mins, other times for like 2 hours.

It depends on the class for me as well.

I study stuff from the class that I don’t quite understand until I do
If I have a test I try to study a day or two before it.
For SAT I study during school ( Study Skills & Lunch) and after school when I complete homework.

Then there are those days where I’m just downright lazy…
